– FULL KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING OF ALL
What is “All”? “All” encompasses our sense organs; everything we know comes through them. As the Buddha explained:
“And what is the all? The eye and forms, the ear and sounds, the nose and odours, the tongue and tastes, the body and tactile objects, the mind and mental phenomena. This is called the all. If anyone should speak: ‘Having rejected this all, I shall make known another all’—that would be a mere empty boast on his part.”
If we seek freedom, liberation, and full understanding, our sense organs offer the gateway. But how? Trough
1. Wisdom
2. Mindfulness
3. Concentration
I place wisdom first, though traditionally it comes last. This process is a loop: we acquire new information, investing in wisdom. Then, we observe its manifestations in daily life—mindfulness. Once we reach this level, we practice letting go in concentration, as meditation is not about gaining but releasing. This “stopping power” of meditation amplifies our wisdom, and the loop continues.
What Must We Understand to Set This Loop in Motion? (Wisdom)
– Sense organs are impermanent
– Their impermanence denies us lasting happiness and joy
– They grow old, get sick, and die, for short we call it “suffering nature”
– Because they are of a suffering nature, they cannot be called “me” or “I.” If they were, we could stop aging and avoid death. But these processes are beyond our control.
How To Observe It In Daily Activities? (Mindfulness)
Stay at the “sense doors.” As Sigong Sam Chin would say, “Let the objects touch you, rather than you touching the object.” Be a receiver when sounds and sights meet your ears and eyes. Notice how pleasant sensations arise, and the desire for more emerges. Notice how unpleasant sensations trigger the wish for less. Neutral feelings breed ignorance, making them harder to observe.
Practicing in Meditation
Learn with patience and acceptance. Meditation is not about what should be, but about what is. With the right approach, the body and rough sensory feelings will subside, and pleasant, non-sensual feelings like joy and bliss will arise. Through patience and acceptance, even these will leave less of an imprint on the consciousness. Eventually, only perception and the mental act of attention will remain. And with continued patience and acceptance, even that will fade, allowing true consciousness to shine through—a consciousness beyond self, life, or memory.
I am a regular person without any special talents, and if I can do this, so can you. I share this because I felt called to. Now, though, the wind of change is blowing stronger in a different direction, and it feels the time to pivot is here. The information I’ve shared no longer seems to serve the same purpose and doesn’t seem to be needed, so I am announcing to the universe that I will post less frequently on any of my social media. I’ll finish up with few other projects and be done. ![]()
